The Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) values community input during our policy development process. You are invited to provide feedback on the following policies:

Policy IJOC – School Volunteers

The existing policy focuses on safety checks for school volunteers. The proposed revisions modernize the Division’s approach to volunteer management by expanding the scope of the policy, creating a framework that strengthens student safety provisions, clarifies expectations, improves accountability, and aligns volunteer practices with divisional values and policies. Link to survey.

Policy IKEAA – Academic Honesty

The need for policy in this area emerged through the Division’s work on artificial intelligence. The draft policy aligns provincial direction on assessment, evaluation, and reporting with its Indigenous Education policy framework, Mamàhtawisiwin – The Wonder We Are Born With. This links directly to MYSP strategic actions 3.1 and 3.3.

Trustees gave first reading to the policy at the April 21, 2026, regular meeting. Consultation with staff in April informed refinements to the policy, readying it for second reading at the May 19, 2026, regular meeting. Broader community consultation is invited through the following optional survey.

Feedback will help shape the final version of the policies, which will be presented this spring or early next fall. Thanks in advance for your participation!
