On Thursday, October 22, Nordale School library staff received a care package filled with new books from Canadian children’s author Casey Lyall.

Casey Lyall is a well-known Canadian author who heard about the Nordale School flood and decided to help. After collecting a dozen of her recent books, she wrapped them in beautiful tissue paper, wrote a lovely note to the library staff, and had them delivered to Winnipeg. They arrived safe and sound at Shamrock School, which is the temporary location for all Nordale School library activities.

“What a surprise! And it is another example of how kind-hearted people have risen to the occasion to help Nordale School as we face this challenge,” said Roy Norris, Teacher-Librarian at Nordale School. “The books will be wonderful additions to the Nordale School library collection, and we look forward to getting them into the hands of students very soon.”

Thank you to Casey Lyall for your generosity and creativity!
