At a press conference at Victor Mager School on Aug. 27, the Manitoba government announced a two-year pilot of a new health and physical education curriculum that includes an "Every Body, Every Day" policy aimed at ensuring all students from kindergarten to Grade 12 participate in in-person physical education.
The province says the updated curriculum will focus on helping students build healthy habits through regular physical activity, nutrition education and practical life skills, as well as addressing topics such as social media, artificial intelligence, vaping, supplements and e-scooter safety.
Teachers and families will have opportunities to provide feedback as the curriculum is refined over the next two years, according to the province. View the original press release and related news stories via the links below.
