The Louis Riel School Division Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Jackie Connell as Superintendent & CEO, effective August 4, 2026.
Jackie ConnellJackie brings more than 20 years of experience across Manitoba’s public education system to the role. She has served as a classroom teacher, school administrator, assistant superintendent, and government official. A proud member of the Manitoba Métis Federation, Jackie is widely respected for her commitment to equity, Indigenous education, and building strong, student-centred learning environments. She is currently the Assistant Deputy Minister of Indigenous Excellence in the Department of Education and Early Childhood Learning.
At the heart of Jackie’s leadership is a deep belief in public education, relationships, and community. She is described as leading with integrity, care, and accountability, and she is passionate about schools as places where everyone can achieve academic success, young people thrive, and communities come together.
Outside of work, Jackie enjoys travelling, spending time near the water, reading, and life with Blue—her very large Labrador who, despite his size, remains endearingly afraid of his own shadow.
We extend a warm welcome to Jackie and wish her success, along with personal and professional fulfilment, as a member of the LRSD community.
