The newly released publication titled Creating a Culture of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism in the Louis Riel School Division celebrates some of the ways our learners demonstrate a thorough understanding of equity and inclusion through a strong sense of connectedness to peers, staff and community. It explores ways in which our staff is coming to recognize their collective capacity to strengthen practices of equity and inclusion. Finally, it also highlights ways in which parents and guardians of the LRSD community are demonstrating their support for this priority through their contributions to a culture of equity and inclusion.

While these are celebrations, they also signal some of the ways we still need to learn and grow. Creating a strong sense of connectedness to peers, staff and community is central to Strategic Priority 1 in our Mutli-Year Strategic Plan: Creating a Culture of Equity and Inclusion. Our School and Classroom Support Teams sat down with members of the LRSD community to build relationships, listen to their stories and share them with our community through this publication. There are far too many stories to highlight here, but we are pleased to share just a few of them with you.
